New Furry Singles Community!
Hello, everyone! I am trying to start a little experiment, here. It's an LJ community for singleton furries to place classified adds, get to know each other, find support for living single in a fandom (and world) that focuses too heavily on relationships, and maybe even a chance to meet someone special! If you'd be interesting in making such a thing work, please show your support by joining singlefurs
! The more people who join, the more everyone may have a chance of meeting some new friends (or even that special someone!).

I've already posted this to the NZ furry boards, so some NZ furries may know this, but I'm working on an update of Chakat Sandwalker's furry list. Ive almost begun work on it now that ive finally gotten a decent server for testing it on. If anyone wants certain features, drop a reply to this post and I'll see if I can acommodate! Current Mood: contemplative

I've written a bit more on my "Tawaki vs the Stoats" story, but I'm still not sure where it's going. Please excuse my inconsistent capitalisation and spelling - I'll fix that later. Right now I want to know two things:
~ Where should this story go? (If anywhere)
~ Is it too violent? (please note it is
meant to be somewhat brutal - since it is a somewhat furrized account of what actually does happen when well adapted predators stumble across a group of creatures evolved to fend off completely different enemies - in this case birds of prey).
Current wordcount: 2,348 (I'm not wanting to go much above 3000)( Invasion of the FittestCollapse )

We've got a few more members now ^^ Yay! And while we're at it, I might as well share this piece I'm working on. 'Tis a story that I intended for South Fur Lands but have to really sit down and get finished - since the deadline is March and whilst that sounded a rather long way away then, well, it sounds all too close now!
Can anyone suggest where they think it might be best for it (the plot) to go. I'm trying to show the impact of introduced mammals on the native fauna - but in a Furry sense.( click here for the storyCollapse )*
Oh and if you know any other Furrs in the southern hemisphere with livejournals, can you point them in this direction?

Welcome Down Under!
Hi, I'm your moderator, lemurkat
, despite the name, I'm not from Madagascar but hail in fact from New Zealand, land of the birds. I just happen to adore lemurs, is all and thus chose one as my Fursona. If I had to chose an NZ critter it would probably be the kea, the world's smartest non-primate. Not that I consider myself particularly smart, but they are cheeky and playful and filled with life, just like I am on a good day...
I was inspired to create this community when I did a search for "furry" and found that whilst there were several american and english groups, there was nothing to bring the Southern Hemisphere together and face it - we do have the more interesting range of fauna here. Evolution in isolation will do that!
So come along and share your art, your stories, your hobbies and ideas and whatever else you might care to discuss. Once we get a few members I'm going to do my best to get some sort of icon drawing thing going, where people submit icons and I'l rotate them on a semi-regular basis.
